ABOUT ME
MEET ASH HALVORSON
No blog starts without an introduction, right? Well, if you are like me, you usually skip over these because they are long, generally boring, and the good stuff comes later. So, let’s keep this as short as possible.

My name is Ashley (but to most, I go by Ash). I am a former family law attorney, who left my career to focus on my family. I am married to a serial entrepreneur, Matt, who traveled a lot for work. We were trying to raise a family, and Matt’s busy work/travel schedule, mixed with my long hours, wasn’t conducive to our desire to raise kiddos. So, we knew we had to make some changes. He cut back on work travel and started working from home more, and I left my law career to start a business that allowed me to work from home. This gave us both the freedom to work while spending more time with our kiddos. However, that doesn’t mean it went as smooth as we thought. We started a business and failed. Yes, I said it. We failed. So, we went back to the drawing board and really focused on our strengths, knowledge, and interest (mostly mine, as I was the one running with starting a new business). That is when Vella was born.
I started a children’s boutique based in Fargo, ND that operated online. The pandemic had just happened, and I wasn’t prepared to make the leap to brick-and-mortar. Fast forward to now. I co-own and operate a brick-and-mortar children’s boutique, represent clients as a realtor, and do real estate flips. I recently started doing content creation on social media to relieve stress, as I truly enjoy it. However, it led to me doing affiliate marketing through brand partnerships and other avenues (who knew social media could make you money and become a job – not me, at least not for me). To keep social media more focused on my day-to-day life, I figured I would start this blog to keep everything else organized in one place.

Here is what you can expect to discover on here: (1) why a person (yours truly) that was seemingly happy with her life quit her career, dropped everything, and took a leap towards the path of entrepreneurship; (2) how the journey, much like any journey, wasn’t perfect and lead to a lot of self-reflection and realization; and (3) how to live your life unapologetically for you - this part is harder than it sounds and is forever a work in progress.

In getting the personal look inside my life, we can connect on so many topics! Mostly (1) parenting – because it takes a village; (2) entrepreneurship – because I would love to help others follow their passions; and (3) fashion/home décor finds – because who doesn’t love a good find or good sale. I will share my thoughts with you all, but mostly I am here to connect. I want to hear YOUR stories and about you. Engage with me on here or message me on social media, and I promise to respond. I cannot wait to connect! Buckle up, grab your glass of wine (or your beverage of choice), and let’s begin.

Yours truly,
Ash
